In 2011, GSOM became a signatory to the United Nations’ PRME initiative, strengthening its commitment to education, research, and collaboration that fosters sustainable social, economic, and environmental change. The PRME Alumni Award formally recognizes the influence that these PRME principles, infused in the framework of the education GSOM delivers, continue to have on our alumni.

“The impact of the PRME principles has undoubtedly grown to be felt beyond the walls of our school. Our faculty, staff, students, and alumni are impacting organizations and their communities every day,” GSOM Dean Catherine Usoff stated. “We are honored to present the inaugural award to Linda.”

Cavaioli has served as Executive Director of the YWCA of Central Massachusetts since 1992. In this position, Linda reports to a 30-member board of directors and oversees the daily operations of a $6 million non-profit organization dedicated to the elimination of racism and empowerment of women.

Cavaioli is active in the community and serves as a member on the Leadership Council and Co-Chair of Membership for the United Way of Central Massachusetts Women’s Initiative, a member of the Community Board of DCF Worcester West Area Office, a Commissioner Emeritus of the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women and a member of the Board of Trustees of Quinsigamond Community College. She also serves on the Martin Luther King Community Breakfast Committee, City Manager’s Task Force on Bias and Hate, and United Service Executives. She has also served as regional chair of the YWCAs of New England Council and as Chair of the YWCA USA Regional Leadership Committee. Before joining the YWCA, Cavaioli was the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Resource Development at the United Way of Central Massachusetts.
