The Long Reach of Genocide
- March 3 at 4 p.m.
- Rose Library, Strassler Center for Holocaust & Genocide Studies
Bradley Simpson, Professor of History at the University of Connecticut, examines the ongoing struggle for truth and accountability for the Indonesian genocide of 1965-1966, during which the Indonesian Army killed 500,000 to 1,000,000 civilians. He will discuss the disturbing role of the United States in these killings, and the genocide’s continued relevance for U.S. foreign policy. Finally, he will speak about contemporary efforts to prevent future genocides.
