Garcia Earns Second All-America Nod At NCAA Championships

Knoxville, Tenn. – Clark junior Eileen Garcia (New York, N.Y.) picked up her second All-America honor in less than three days with her tenth place finish on the 1-meter board at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships.

Garcia, who earned All-America distinction on Wednesday with her tenth place finish on the three meter board, finally broke through on the 1-meter. She entered today having collected All-America honors three straight years – all on the 3-meter board.

Today, however, she advanced to the consolation finals for the first time ever and turned in a tenth place performance with a score of 391.95.

The 1-meter event wrapped up an outstanding junior campaign for Garcia, who was named Worcester City Diver of the Year for the second year in a row, won both the 1-meter and 3-meter titles at the NEWMAC Championships for the second straight season and was named NEWMAC Diver of the Year for the second year in a row before capping the year with a pair of All-America nods.

She now has more All-America honors than any other Clark student-athlete in school history.
