Plan a sustainable spring break

With spring break just around the corner (March 7–11), there are many ways you can be sustainable on your time off.

  1. Carpool on your road trip: Use Mass DOT’s NuRide program or the Clark Carpools! group to either fill your car or hitch a ride to wherever you’re going.
  2. Start planning out a garden: Now is a great time to check out seed catalogs and think about growing food this spring and summer!
  3. Dig into the Fresh Food Movement: Building a Sustainable Worcester is hosting an event at the Hanover Theater on 3/9 about local food in Central Massachusetts. Details here.
  4. Go on a hike: Check out Clark’s Hadwen Arboretum, the trails of the Greater Worcester Land Trust, and Broad Meadow Brook Conservation Center – all in Worcester!
  5. Power down and unplug: If you’ll be away from your dwelling place, remember to power down and unplug all your electronics.
