Sustainable Clark suggests an easy New Year’s resolution

As you ease back into Clark from a nice winter break, what could be more affirming than making a New Year’s resolution that you can actually KEEP? How simple it would be to recycle more! You keep saying that you know you can … that you really want to try. Clark makes it pretty easy, and now is the perfect time to make good on that promise to yourself. This semester, Clark has the chance to achieve a 40 percent recycling rate — we are at 35 percent now — and all it’s going to take is you! (Well, OK lots of you, but I know you’re are out there!).

Here’s a refresher. At Clark we can recycle ALL paper & cardboard, ALL plastics, ALL metal, ALL glass, ALL styrofoam. If you would rinse the food off of plastics, metal and glass that would be nice but its not necessary, and we’ll take any type of container. Here’s what is NOT recyclable: Wet/greasy paper, plastic film, plastic bags, chip bags, candy wrappers, food, wood, rocks. That’s it.

If you need a blue desk-side bin for your office to collect all the paper, please contact Jenny Isler. If you want a box to collect all the plastic/metal/glass, please let me know. If you want to print helpful signs, they are here. If you would like more details on the 20+ things we can recycle at Clark, that’s here.
