Microsoft Office & Windows Personal Purchase – Change

Microsoft recently notified us of a substantial increase in the price of Microsoft Office and the discontinuation of the sale of Microsoft Windows and Expression for personal purchases by Clark’s faculty, staff and students. The change will take effect after March 24.

After March 24, you will still be able to purchase Microsoft Office for use on your personal computer, but it will only be offered as a download (formerly you could get either a download or disk shipped). The new cost will be about $99. Based on the information we have at this time, you will no longer be able to by Windows or Expression under our personal use agreements.

To make a purchase for your personal computer (not Clark-owned equipment) either before or after the change takes effect, visit Clark’s software purchase Web page and click on the link in the Microsoft section, Clark University Academic Software Center. For assistance with purchases of licenses for University owned computer(s) (including those purchased with grant monies) please contact ITS directly.
