Associate Director of Intercultural Affairs Doherty to chair NAFSA regional team

Patricia D. Doherty, associate director of the Office of Intercultural Affairs at Clark University, was elected recently to lead the NAFSA Association of International Educators Region XI team as its chair for 2012. The Region XI team consists of New England states.

Since 2006 Doherty has worked closely with Clark’s student body, staff, and faculty as an advisor, mentor and trainer. She advises the Global Scholars Program, the Asian Culture Society, and mentors students on immigration, personal, and educational concerns. She creates and leads campus-wide training sessions on intercultural communication, as well as seminars on Optional Practical Training and Curricular Practical Training. She also serves on the Diversity Task Force at Clark, and travels internationally for recruitment purposes.

Doherty, a Worcester resident, received her Master of Arts in Counseling with a concentration in Higher Education at Montclair State University (N.J.) and a B.A. in English at Fairfield University (Conn.).
