Helping to develop and connect audiences in two languages

COPACE adjunct faculty member and internship coordinator Susan L. Smith was asked a year and a half ago to write an article for the National Arts Marketing Project’s newsletter. Her contributed piece, “Building Audiences One Encounter at a Time,” was published on-line.

Last summer, the publisher of a digital magazine focusing on audience development sought Smith’s permission to translate the article into Spanish for an issue of their on-ine publication, Conectandos Audiencias, based in Madrid. The translated article was published in the current edition of the magazine, here.

Since 2002, Smith has been an adjunct faculty member of Clark College of Professional and Continuing Education (COPACE) division where she is internship coordinator for students in the master’s degree programs in Professional Communication and Public Administration. She also teaches a course at Clark in Audience Development, Event Planning, and Promotion. She is associate producer, director of PR and marketing, and co-founder of Blue Pumpkin Productions and Worcester Foothills Theatre.
