Strassler Center to host summit on conflict in the Congo, Sept. 24-25

The Strassler Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Clark University will host an international summit, “Informed Activism: Armed Conflict, Scarce Resource, and Congo,” Sept. 24 – 25, in Tilton Hall at the Higgins University Center, 950 Main Street, Worcester. Aproximately 300 participants representing more than 17 non-governmental organizations and college campuses from around the world are expected. They will explore the confluence of mass violence and mineral extraction in the Congo from a historical, environmental, feminist, and economic perspective, as well as address the challenges of implementing a conflict-free minerals policy.
