Prof. Grandia speaks at Woodrow Wilson Center on deforestation, Latin America

Liza Grandia, assistant professor of International Development and Social Change, recently participated in a panel at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, discussing “Deforestation, Population, and Development in a Warming World: A Roundtable on Latin America.”

Her presentation to the center was titled Population, Environment & [Fill in the blank]: Lessons from the Maya Heartland.

In this short video, Grandia discusses how Propeten implemented integrated population, health, and environment projects to address deforestation in the Maya Biosphere Reserve in Guatemala.
