With 15 years combined expertise in socioeconomic research and business, Jessica is a Managing Partner of the recruiting firm MEI Search Consultants, a member of the Washtenaw County Economic Development Working Group, and a social entrepreneur living in Ypsilanti, MI, located between Ann Arbor and Detroit.  Her current startup project, The Shed, took its shape from a Washtenaw County funded study of local small business and non-venture capital funded entrepreneurship.  Jessica conducted the research to identify untapped opportunities in the local economy and assess the potential for cooperatives as economic and business development tools.  Previously, as an LSA Regents Fellow at the University of Michigan, she conducted research on corporate decision-making with an emphasis on the roles of organizational structure and profit & loss management in driving corporate behavior.  She earned her MA and BA in Anthropology, with a Minor in Economics from Brandeis University, where she was awarded highest honors and the Betty & Harry S. Shapiro endowed award in Anthropology.
