Graduate Assistantship, A New Earth Conversation initiative
Seeking a graduate student with related interests to help faculty conveners (Ellen Foley, Sarah Buie, and Amy Richter) steward a new climate change initiative, aimed at creating increased awareness on the issue, as well as a new level of dialogue and institutional response throughout the University.
Administrative support is needed for a range of faculty meetings and gatherings, public events and the second Climate Change Teach-in (scheduled for March 23, 2016), including supervision of two undergraduate staff members. Ability to manage complex scheduling, logistical arrangements, rudimentary accounting, online representation of the project (WordPress site, Moodle pages), and basic publicity needs using templates required. Interest and skills in dialogic and emergent processes very valuable. Ability to provide research support for related book and film projects desirable.
Commitment of ten hours a week at $14 per hour during term time AY 2015-16, and additional time in March leading up to the Teach-in. Possible hours in summer of 16 and possible renewal for AY 16-17.
