As you know, the Graduate Student Race Forum will take place — Wednesday, February 24, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in Tilton Hall. The forum will be live streamed to Jefferson 320, which has been arranged as a second room for overflow seating. All members of the Clark community are invited to attend. For those who are unable to do so, the forum can be viewed from the live stream page:

https://livestream.com/clarkuniversity/graduatestudentraceforum2242016

The purpose of the forum is to allow graduate students and their allies to express their concerns and grievances about the state of diversity and inclusion on campus. We will provide opportunities for students who do not feel comfortable speaking to express their perspectives as well. Such a discussion will help administration, staff, faculty, and fellow students understand how to improve the graduate experience at Clark. Furthermore, it will provide a crucial opportunity to reflect on the progress made to address the concerns voiced by undergraduates at the last race forum.

We understand that many are vulnerably positioned and do not feel comfortable speaking publicly at such a forum. To ensure that all students have an opportunity to safely communicate their thoughts or concerns, we have created an anonymous online form that you can fill out and submit: https://clarku.co1.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_afSyyfranAOVIFL. Responses are completely anonymous. The content of the responses will be compiled, analyzed, and shared with the campus after the forum. This link will remain open until the end of the day, Friday, February 26, 2016. We will provide note cards and pens at the forum for comments and responses to be read out loud by faculty volunteers or submitted as written feedback. Of course, those who wish to speak publicly will have the opportunity to do so.

Whether you’d like to speak or simply listen in, we invite you to join us.
