The following information is intended for GSOM graduate students who are planning to complete the requirements for their respective degrees during spring semester 2014.

Please note: The Application for Degree, Petition to Walk, and Commencement Attendance are separate processes. The deadline for all the forms mentioned below is March 7, 2014.

Commencement is intended to be a University-wide celebration of the accomplishment of earning your degree.  We recognize that students who have 1 unit remaining to complete their degree may wish to participate in the Commencement ceremony.  Therefore, GSOM has the following policy:

– Students completing all degree requirements by April 25, 2014 fill out the Application for Degree (#1 below) AND Commencement Attendance Form (#3 below).

– Students completing their final unit by August 15, 2014 fill out the Petition to Walk form (#2 below) AND the Commencement Attendance form (#3 below).

Application for Degree – Graduate students who plan to complete all the requirements for their respective degrees by April 1, 2014 will be awarded their degree on May 18, 2014. This includes the submission of an approved thesis/dissertation to the Graduate School Office. Your department may have an earlier deadline for completion, so be sure to check with your department assistant. Do not fill out this form if you plan to petition to walk.

To complete the Application for Degree form:

Log on to CUWEB using your Clark credentials

• In CUWEB, click on Main Menu
• Click on the Registrar’s Office, Student Accounts and Financial Aid link
• Click on Student Records
• Click on Application for Degree – Please read and follow the instructions carefully.  If you have any questions or issues when completing the form please contact the Registrar’s Office by emailing registrar@clarku.edu.

Petition to Walk form_2014All students who plan to finish by the previously mentioned deadline must complete the APPLICATION FOR DEGREE online form between February 3, 2014 and March 7, 2014. Students who do not complete the form on time forfeit the right to be an eligible candidate for spring graduation.

 

1. Petition to Walk – GSOM students who have 1 unit remaining after completion of the spring semester may petition to attend the May 18 Commencement ceremony.  GSOM interested students should submit the Petition to Walk form to their advisor no later than March 7, 2014.  Students may participate in Commencement only once.  Students who participate on May 18, 2014 forfeit their right to participate in commencement ceremonies in 2015, even if they do not attend the ceremony for which their petition was approved.

 

1. Commencement Attendance – All students who wish to participate in the Commencement Ceremony on May 18, 2014 must complete the Commencement Attendance Form online at www.clarku.edu/gradcommencement.  A souvenir cap & gown will be ordered for MA candidates at a cost of $28.00; PhD candidates will receive a cap & gown rental at a cost of $38.00, both payable at to University Cap & Gown at the time of pick up in May. You will receive pick up information upon completion of the form. The deadline to complete this form is March 7, 2014.
