Professor Shital Sharma is looking to hire a student to assist with his undergraduate Statistics course for the remainder of the Spring 2014 semester.

Position description: The graduate assistant will hold regular discussions sessions once a week to help undergraduate students learn the basics of business mathematics and the use of computer aided tools such as Excel to solve problems in business math. In addition, the GA will help in grading homework assignments each week, as well as holding open office sessions for students in need of help.

Qualifications: Applicants should possess strong mathematical skills. For instance, an engineering background where linear algebra is required would be preferred. Some prior teaching/TA experience or the ability to explain mathematical concepts to lay people would be a plus.

Familiarity with Specific Software/Systems: Some experience with Excel would be preferred.

Preferred Skills: Reliable, presentation skills/ability to speak comfortably in front of groups of people, self motivation/ability to work with little supervision, communication skills (proficiency in English speaking/writing implied).

Position information: Position is for 6 hours per week at $10 per hour rate under the supervision of Professor Shital Sharma. Schedule to be determined with Professor Sharma.
