“The Business of Digital Media”

 

 

Increasingly, traditional media companies are facing challenges brought on by rapid changes in technology that dramatically affect the way news and information are delivered and consumed. As they attempt to transform their businesses from print to digital media, companies must analyze the market and assess demand to develop effective digital media strategies.  Andrea Chui, Legal Counsel for the Financial Times (FT) in the United States, will help us understand these issues based on her intimate knowledge of current and future strategies of the FT.  Andrea was educated at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, where she attained her legal qualifications together with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in marketing.  After graduating, she worked for a large Australian law firm and started working for the Financial Times in London in 2008. She was assigned to New York in 2012.

“The Business of Alternative Energy”

 

Questions related to sustainable sources of energy are paramount for today’s businesses. Companies are striving to understand to what extent society is committed to sustainable energy, what types of alternative energy sources they should invest in, and how to pay for those investments.  Madeleine Tan will address these and many other questions as she speaks about environmental issues facing governments, society, and global corporations. Madeleine has developed a solid expertise in wind and solar energy, including an in-depth, objective understanding of the merits and challenges related to alternative energy sources. She was educated at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, studying finance, commerce, and law. She graduated with honors in Finance Law. Following graduation, she worked for an English law firm in Hong Kong and was assigned to Bankers Trust bank.  She is currently a Partner with Kaye Scholer in New York.
