Student Accounts Receivable Assistant Position Posted!

The GSOM Budgets & Planning Office is looking to hire a student for the position of Student Accounts Receivable Assistant.

Position description: This job involves assisting the Director of Budgets & Planning and assistant in the management of student accounts receivable, collecting the amounts owed by students on their GSOM term bills. The graduate assistant (GA) will update a debit list report, and will contact students with outstanding balances in order to encourage them to pay their term bills. The GA will report to the Director of Budgets & Planning and work closely with her from week to week to control the school’s risk of non-payment of student balances. There may be other administrative or office tasks to be done from time to time, such as checking inventory and researching websites. The GA must be able to work with confidential information about his or her fellow students.

Qualifications: Some accounting background and office experience required. Some accounts receivable background desired.

Familiarity with Specific Software/Systems: MS Outlook and Excel required.

Preferred Skills: Communication skills (proficiency in English speaking/writing implied); self-motivation/ability to work with little supervision; customer service skills; ability to keep confidentiality.

Position information: Position is for 6 hours per week at $10 per hour rate under the supervision of Donna Turcotte, GSOM’s Director of Budgets & Planning. The GA must be available in the morning or afternoon 2 or 3 days per week.
