GSOM Student Lounge Project

Update:  The new GSOM student lounge area mentioned in the July post below is almost complete.  The area will be open for the start of the semester with temporary furnishings, the new pieces are due to come in soon.  We are grateful for all those who collaborated to make this a more inviting space for GSOM students!

We are happy to share the news that Mark Fishman, ’82, Trustee, Clark University, is generously donating a Student Lounge area that will be located in what is currently the computer lab, rooms 103 and 105.  As a result, the computers will ultimately be relocated to other rooms in that part of the first floor and the whole area will get a facelift.  Construction of the new space will begin towards the end of next week (approximately July 19th). This project has been a collaboration of GSOM students, administration, staff, and physical plant, along with a design firm, to create a space for our students to relax and spend time together outside of classrooms and computer labs. There will be more to come on the details of the space in mid to late August.

Due to this construction, the computer lab will be closed in its current location during the renovation.  The computer lab will be moved on Friday, July 13th.   Lisa Radomsky has generously offered the Fishman Library as a small alternative computer lab space for the next several weeks.  One Bloomberg terminal will be available for student use in the Fishman Library.  We anticipate the renovation will be completed by approximately August 20th. We are excited about this project and are looking forward to all that is new in GSOM.
