Sustainable Clark: Recycling increased in 2016

We have tracked Clark’s recycling and diversion rates since 2011. Recycling rates are based on the total of all waste streams and recyclable items like paper, plastic, metal, and glass; diversion rates are based on total waste streams and recycling commodities, plus everything the university does not send to the landfill (compost, donations, e-waste, etc.).

Recycling rates in 2016 increased by 4 percent from spring to fall semesters, and diversion rates increased by 2 percent! Check out our recycling stats on the Sustainable Clark page.

Let’s keep it up and recycle even more in 2017!
