Welcome back, Green Clarkies! Stay sustainable in the snow

Welcome back, everyone!

It may be cold and icy outside but that doesn’t mean we can’t stay sustainable as we’re getting into the swing of the spring semester.

Here are five sustainable tips to help you get through the winter and minimize your impact!

  1. Get outside. Build a snowman, shovel snow, go on a walk, or learn a winter sport! These are all great ways to get outside and will help you active.
  2. Grab a book. Here’s a list of some good sustainability books.
  3. Maintain your bike. Get your bike ready for spring — Cycles of Change offers open shop hours from 3 to 5:30 p.m. every Sunday in the Maywood Hall basement. (Like Cycles on Change on Facebook.)
  4. Thrift! Looking for layers? Check out the Community Thrift Store.
  5. Try a new recipe. Use the extra time inside to teach yourself and/or roommates a new recipe; try one with a local or organic ingredient to be sustainable.
