U.S. News Best Colleges 2014 ranks Clark University in top 100; 29 in ‘Great Schools at Great Prices’

College-cover2014-370-509The U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges guide once again recognizes Clark University’s outstanding academics and financial value. The 2014 edition places Clark at No. 75 among National Universities and No. 29 on the list of Great Schools at Great Prices.

“This latest acknowledgement is gratifying, and comes at a time of growing recognition for Clark University’s leadership and success in advancing liberal education for our students and for the communities of which we are a part,” said President David Angel. “Clark’s model of Liberal Education and Effective Practice is preparing our students to meet the challenges of the 21st century, to address society’s most pressing concerns and build meaningful, successful lives.”

Clark’s inclusion in these categories, as well as factors such as its graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity and more, are why it remains among the top 100 universities in the nation. The 2014 rankings offer data on nearly 1,800 schools, including tuition and graduation rates. Clark has advanced in the U.S. News rankings in recent years, moving from the 94th spot (2012 guide) to 83rd (2013 issue) and No. 75 today.

“While we recognize that rankings are not a perfect measure of the college experience, we think it is noteworthy that the value of a Clark education is confirmed in many of the metrics tracked by U.S. News,” said Don Honeman, Clark’s Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid. “Our tuition-free Accelerated Bachelors to Master’s Program option and our highly competitive room and board charges distinguish Clark’s cost structure in ways that students and their families find especially attractive.”

The U.S. News college rankings groups schools based on categories created by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. According to the U.S. News Media Group, the America’s Best Colleges ranking package, which includes extensive editorial content and multimedia resources, has helped families navigate the difficult decisions involved throughout the college process, from college admission and selection to financing options.
