Ferguson and Civil Unrest: A Conversation with Clark University’s St. Louisan Trustee Steven C. Roberts

Clark University Trustee Steven C. Roberts resides in St. Louis, MO and has been actively engaged in the events and organized protests unfolding in Ferguson, MO since Michael Brown’s shooting on August 9, 2014.  Come to this special session to hear his insights on the activities in Ferguson and discuss the causes and effects of civil unrest as a local and global response to racial injustice.

Steven C. Roberts received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology with honors from Clark University, and a Juris Doctorate Degree (JD) and Master of Laws Degree (LLM) specializing in urban law and urban development at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law.  He serves as President and Principal of The Roberts Companies, a privately held multi-faceted business organization which has created and managed more than sixty companies in the past thirty years in real estate projects for residential, retail, hospitality, office and entertainment industries. Mr. Roberts has served on several national boards of entrepreneurs and as a St. Louis Alderman from 1979 to 1993 specializing in legislation for the city’s redevelopment projects.
