Position 1: Seeking Ad Hoc TA Grader
Intro to Cultural Anthropology
Department: International Development, Community & Environment (IDCE)
Course time: Monday and Thursday 4:15 – 5:30 pm
Discuss time: Monday 7:20 – 8:10 pm and Tuesday 7:20-8:10 pm
Position description: This course is an elective course of the International Development undergraduate major with enrollments of 55 students per semester. The TA responsibilities include: attending class lectures; working with the instructor to help with course logistics; running two discussion groups; leading discussion group exercises; and administering and grading exams.
Background preferred but others will definitely be considered:
-Undergraduate major/minor in social sciences or related field (anthropology, sociology, economics, political science, cultural studies, development studies, etc.
-Previous TA or research experience
Experience leading discussions in a diverse setting
This position pays $2,500 for one semester at $14/hour. The TA will work between 12-14 hours per week.
Position 2: Seeking Ad Hoc TA Grader
Tales from the Far Side
Department: International Development, Community & Environment (IDCE)
Course time: Tuesday & Thursdays 10:25 – 11:40 am
Discussion Times: Tuesdays & Wednesdays 6:00 – 6:50 pm
Position description: The TA will have theoretical background knowledge about international development, teaching experience to engage students in discussion and facilitate learning and some practical experience in the development of non-profit sector. In this position the TA will: attend class twice a week, meet with the professor once a week to plan for weekly discussion sections, facilitate two weekly discussion sections, help in the design of the mid-term and final exam, assist with the grading of 2 papers and 2 exams, hold weekly office hours, and other small tasks as needed.
This position pays $2,500 for one semester at $14/hour. The TA will work between 12-14 hours per week.
