Movie Screenings part of Net Impact’s New Economy Summit

As part of the IDCE New Economy Summit, the following films will be screened on Friday, April 19th.

“The Art of Documentary Filmmaking” Workshop: 3:45-5:45pm – Sackler 120

The first event is a workshop on the “Art of Documentary Filmmarking” with Micha Peled, aware winning director of the Globalization Trilogy (“When Wal-Mart comes to town,” “China Blue,” and “Bitter Seeds”), and Matt Feinstein, Co-Director of Worcester Roots and Director of World Premiere Film, Ciclovida.

“Bitter Seeds” Film Showing and Conversation with Director Micha X. Peled: 6:00-7:30pm – Sackler 120

Join us for this powerful film about genetically modified seeds, the monopoly that Monsanto and other corporations have on global seed production, the WTO, and farmer suicides in India.

The film will be followed by a discussion from the award winning director, Micha Peled, the director of the Globalization Trilogy: “When Wal-Mart comes to town,” “China Blue,” and “Bitter Seeds.”

Bitter Seeds was a winner in the World Premiere Telluride Film Festival; Winner of the IDFA Green Screen Award; Global Justice Award from Oxfam Novib; 2013 Cinema for Peace International Green Award; IDA Humanities Award; and the Green Film Festival in Seoul.
