JOB & INTERNSHIP SEARCH UPDATE FROM CAREER SERVICES

Now is the time to be searching for US internships or jobs so you can start work at the end of this semester.  It will take about 3 months to find an internship and 3, 6 or even 9 months to find a permanent job.  First year students–you are currently taking or have taken the Career Training Cohort, which teaches you how to conduct a successful internship search.  If you need additional assistance or individual attention, contact Julianne Tamasy (MSF) or Lisa Radomsky (MBA and Dual Degree) for an appointment.

Second year/graduating students, I hope that your search is in progress so that you’ll have an offer by the end of classes on April 26.  To help you achieve this goal, I’m starting a Job Search Club in February, with meetings bi-weekly through the end of the semester.  We’ll discuss the common issues and help each other stay on track with action items and results in a supportive group setting.  Watch your email for details later this week.  If you haven’t started; now is the time, and I’ll help you stay motivated.

Additionally, we plan to offer two new workshops; watch for details soon:

–Preparing for Career Fairs and Networking Events in February
–LinkedIn Essentials for Success in March.

There are a number of large employer events this semester to help with your search.
