Scott Duxbury, Director, Rencap Securities

“The Real Story of Life in the Finance Industry”

Scott Duxbury began his career as a courier for a small Australian investment bank. After showing a strong aptitude for numbers, he was offered a position in the back-office of the bank’s trading operation and from there was transferred to an equity trading position. The Australian bank was purchased by Merrill Lynch, and the equity trading function was expanded. Scott was offered a leadership role in the Sydney headquarters office and for 20 years remained with Merrill honing his global skills in trading. Over this period, he was promoted several times with additional executive appointments in Sydney, London and New York. In these positions he developed a specialty and expertise in Central European equities. Scott resigned about a year after Merrill was purchased by Bank of America. He was then appointed to an Executive trading position at a Russian Bank, Rencap Securities.
