Clark Women in Business Leadership team election!

Dear CWIB Members,

Election Day for the CWIB Leadership Team is coming soon!! We are trying to get an idea of interest for next year’s team and give you information about the various positions. If you are interested, please read the descriptions below and send an email to cwib@clarku.edu with your name, program, year of graduation and the position you would like to run for by Oct. 28, 2011. Please note that only female members can apply.

WHY SHOULD YOU RUN?

*       Taking on a leadership position gives you many opportunities to get to know people

*       You get to network with your fellow students, professors and professionals from different fields

*       CWIB is a young organization, so there is a lot of room for creative and new ideas/events

*       It is a lot of fun!

The following positions are:

1. PRESIDENT

Description:

*       The President serves as the primary contact person for CWIB as well as representative.

*       Leads the meetings, consults with the other officers in organizing events, oversees that CWIB is fulfilling its responsibilities properly.

*       To serve as liaison between CWIB, administration, the faculty, organizations, firms, and persons.

2. VICE PRESIDENT

Description:

*       The vice president of the CWIB functions to assist the President with her responsibilities in her absence.

*       Provides input for events and programming, and works collaboratively with other board members to promote CWIB.

*       Communicator and collaborator directly with NAWMBA

3. TREASURER

Description:

*       The treasurer is responsible for requisitioning funds for CWIB use from the money appropriated to the organization by Student Council.

*       Collaborating with the other officers to determine how funds will be spent

*       Keeping accurate records of  all financial transactions

*       Preparing an annual financial statement for publication to the membership committee.

4. COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

Description:

*       Collaborate with I.T to update CWIB website

*       Manages CWIB website

*       Updates CWIB site, which informs GSOM students of the upcoming events  and ongoing changes.

*       Compiles and distributes electronic (facebook, Twitter etc.) and paper (i.e Posters, Flyers) CWIB updates which informs GSOM students of the upcoming events or ongoing.

5. GENERAL SECRETARY

Description:

*       The secretary attends CWIB meetings, takes notes, and writes minutes. The secretary also assists in brainstorming, planning, and executing CWIB events.

*       Assists in coordinating and organizing all CWIB events

*       Primary contact for all matters dealing with events.
