Summer Break Job Opening:  Office of Student Services

Position:              Student Services Assistant

Location:             Carlson Hall

Start date:           Beginning June 2010, must be available to work 15 hours per week; hours will increase as Orientation Week approaches

Job Description

Provide support for Student Services in planning Fall Orientation for new MBA and MSF students.  Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Communicating directly with deposited applicants (usually by email) and providing them with information about the degree programs and student life at Clark GSOM;
  • Updating online and printed information available to incoming students, including the GSOM Survival Guide;
  • Serving as the “Housing Coordinator” by connecting incoming students to available housing resources;
  • Welcoming incoming students when they arrive on campus;
  • Assisting the Student Services Director in preparing materials and organizing and confirming the schedule for the Summer 2011 Orientation Program for both full-time and part-time students;
  • Playing a significant role in coordinating and carrying out Orientation events.

Qualifications

One year of office experience is preferred (this experience can come from working at your previous educational institution).  Excellent English speaking and writing skills as well as polished customer service skills are required.  The individual must be organized and responsible, and should have experience working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).  Prior experience working in an educational setting is a plus.
