The third Geller Jazz Concert will feature the Tom Harrell Quintet and his band Colors Of A Dream. You may not recognize Tom Harrell’s face, but if you grew up in America, you’ve almost certainly heard his music. He arranged Vince Guaraldi’s music for the “Peanuts” Thanksgiving Special, and you can hear his trumpet underneath the antics of Snoopy and Woodstock. But that slice of priceless Americana represents just one of the many incarnations of Tom Harrell.

Praised by Newsweek for his pure melodic genius, Harrell is widely recognized as one of the most creative and dynamic jazz instrumentalists and composers of our time. As a teenager, he was already jamming with professional groups in the San Francisco Bay area. He played with the Stan Kenton and Woody Herman big bands, and became a pioneer of jazz fusion in the 70s. Even with a discography of more than 260 recordings and a career that spans more than four decades, Harrell has managed to stay fresh and current as he continues to actively record and tour around the world. Join us for an intimate and exhilarating experience!

This performance is made possible through the generous support of the estate of Selma B. Geller.
