Throughout Earth Week in March, Clark Unplugged: Do It In the Dark led a competition among the First-Year and Transfer residence halls — Bullock, JSC, Dodd and Wright — to see which halls could reduce energy consumption below baseline measurements from last year.

During the week, Doing It 101 programs were held in Bullock, JSC, and Wright Halls to get residents pumped up about energy conservation and learn about ways to save. Residents had the opportunity to make creative door tags to demonstrate their participation that could be used to redeem for an LED light bulb at the end of the competition.

DIITD4The competition concluded at the ceremony in JSC on Sunday, March 29, where the results of the competition were unveiled. In summary, three of four FYT halls reduced electricity usage, 1009 kWh of electricity were conserved (a total of 4.3 percent!), and Wright Hall was announced as the winner after saving 10.46% compared to their baseline measurement!
