Clarkies help solve Worcester’s transportation woes

Join us for the Worcester Incubator for Innovation Launch on Thursday, Jan. 22

Art of science learningSince last March, Worcester Incubator for Innovation participants have been using cutting-edge curriculum and working with recognized experts to propose transportation solutions to enhance Worcester’s economic activity, connect its communities, and improve the quality of life for city residents and visitors. Nancy Budwig, associate provost and dean of research, and the late Ted Buswick, former executive-in-residence for leadership and the arts in Clark’s Graduate School of Management, have served in advisory roles in this effort.

Members of the Clark Community are invited to a special launch party on Thursday, January 22, at 5 p.m. at Worcester’s Union Station, 2 Washington Square, where the innovation teams from the Art of Science Learningincluding several Clark graduate students—will present their solutions to Worcester-area transportation challenges.

The Worcester Incubator for Innovation shares equally with similar incubators in Chicago and San Diego, a $2.6 million National Science Foundation grant to explore the Art of Science Learning. With a focus on seeking innovative solutions to the area’s urban-transportation challenges and consisting of nearly 100 volunteers drawn from sectors of education, sciences, business and the arts.
