The Friends Book & Author Dinner Returns!

 This event will be held in Tilton Hall at the Higgins University Center on April 29th. The registration deadline is April 21. Tickets are $60 and $85.  Our speakers will be noted authors Dr. Okey Ndibe, James Dempsey, and Nicholas Basbanes.

Dr. Ndibe teaches creative writing at Trinity College and Brown University. He as a co-founder of the journal African Commentary and as a novelist has written about Nigerians and their struggles both in their homeland and as immigrants.

Jim Dempsey has written a biography of Worcester-born-and-raised Scofield Thayer (editor of The Dial, the major modernist literary magazine of the 1920s), two novels, and a modern translation of Chaucer’s court poetry.

Nick Basbanes’ works are beloved by bibliophiles everywhere, on book collecting and book collectors, and now about paper.

Please note:  Tickets are $85 (private reception at 5:45) and $60 (general reception at 6:30). Dinner will commence at 7;  speakers at 8, then time for Q &A,and book signing at 9:30.
