Clark celebrates NCAA Division III Week

D3Week

The Clark University Department of Athletics has planned several events this week (April 7-12) in conjunction with the NCAA’s celebration of Division III athletics and its principles, known as Division III Week.

The celebration is a positive opportunity for all individuals associated with Division III to observe and celebrate the impact of athletics, and of student-athletes, on the campus and surrounding community.

“This week is a great way for the campus community to see all the hard work not only on the field, but off of it, that our student-athletes put in,” said interim Director of Athletics, Trish Cronin. “We are really lucky here at Clark to have student-athletes who are engaged and passionate about so many things outside of athletics and we are excited to show them off.”

Division III’s Identity Initiative was introduced in 2010 to sharpen the division’s identity and to help schools and conferences more effectively explain why they prefer to compete in Division III. Division III is a place where student-athletes can “follow your passions and develop your potential,” within an approach that combines rigorous academics, competitive sports and an opportunity to pursue other interests.

From honoring academic achievement, to empowering girls to play sports, to encouraging everyone to take part in something new, Division III Week at Clark will be filled with activities for everyone.
