Feb. 14 celebration heralds arrival of new recycling bins in Jonas Clark Hall

The Clark Sustainability Initiative is proud to announce to all involved that Jonas Clark Hall will be receiving four brand new recycling bins thanks to the Student Sustainability Fund. These bins are very important because they will be placed in areas of high traffic in the first and second floor lobbies of J.C. New, larger, more consistent bins will replace the small bins that currently reside in each classroom. We hope this move will increase our recycling rate, reduce the amount of trash J.C. produces, and shape student and faculty behavior and response to recycling on campus.

We are very excited about this move — in Clark’s first and oldest building, a seemingly small change will have big benefits. Clark has been and continues to be a leader in innovative sustainability initiatives.

We would like to draw attention to the new system in place, so we would like to invite you and all of campus to a brief celebration on Thursday, Feb. 14, at 3 p.m. in the main hall of Jonas Clark (first floor). We will put out the new bins and enjoy some valentine’s day inspired refreshments (LOVE THE EARTH!)

Thank you for your help and we hope to see you on the 14th!
