On Jan. 21, Clark University will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Several activities are planned. The entire campus is invited to participate.
Throughout the day, the famous “I Have a Dream” speech can be viewed in the following locations:
- Jefferson 320 – throughout the day
- Higgins Café – 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
- Academic Commons – 2:30 and 3:30 p.m.
After listening to his words again (or perhaps for the first time), students, faculty, and staff will be able to write their own dreams on boards in all screening locations.
Our celebration will culminate in an evening panel and community conversation. The panel will feature Clark faculty, staff and students speaking about the influence of Dr. King on their lives and their dreams. The community conversation will allow attendees to share their own experiences and reflect upon the panelists’ comments. The event will be facilitated by Dialogue Fellows and Black Student Association officers Michelle Aroko and Melissa Picon.
Panel and discussion will be held in the University Center, Tilton Hall , 7 – 9 p.m.
